Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. (also known as B-A-B or BaB for short) is an Americian retalier that is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, the company is known for selling teddy bears and stuffed toys. During store visits, customers go through an interactive process with the stuffed toy of their choice is stuffed and tailored to their preferences, these preferences include adding scents, sounds, looks or outfits to the toy.
The company would aquire the Sanrio license in 2006[1] with the release of a Hello Kitty plush, with variants being released in the following years, however it wasn't until 2010 when more Sanrio characters would be added to the collection, with the addition of My Melody, Keroppi and Chococat. The 2010 series was in celebration of Sanrio's 50th Anniversary.
In 2022, the collaboration would be revived with the release of a Hello Kitty plush celebrating Build-A-Bear's 25th Anniversary, the revived series would add many more Sanrio Characters than the 2010 series. As of August 2025, the collaboration is ongoing, with U*SA*HA*NA being the most recent addition as teased by Build-A-Bear's social media accounts.
