Catnip is a female cat character in the animated television series Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater. She only appears in this particular series. Catnip is the daughter of Fangora.
Character Information[]
Catnip is a tall Siamese cat with green fur, yellow eyes with eyelashes, and blue eyelids. She wears a jeweled collar around her neck with red and white jewels embedded around it and a white diamond shaped crystal hanging off the front of it.
Catnip is shown to be a very diva-like and envious character, often taking antagonistic roles in almost every play. She is sociable and friendlier towards the others, despite her antagonist roles, although she did attempt to sabotage the play in the first episode. She is generally associated with Grinder, often trying to push him around whenever he just doesn't understand it.
In "Catula", just before the titular play begins, Catnip gives My Melody a spare carton of milk, after the latter accidentally dropped a glass of milk, spilling it on the floor. My Melody is thankful for this act of generosity, but Catnip tells My Melody to not tell anybody about it, because she doesn't want to "ruin her reputation". From this, it is very likely that Catnip intentionally chooses to play antagonistic roles in most of the plays because she herself has been considered an antagonist, or even outright villain before joining Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater.
Further to this, it is entirely possible that her line as Scroogenip in "The Year Scroogenip Swiped Christmas" about having never been given a present before actually applied just as much to Catnip herself as it did to the character she was playing.
