Donragon is the titular character of a discontinued animation series on the Japanese television show Daisuki! Hello Kitty that aired from October 5th, 1993 to March 8, 1994. The character has since faded into obscurity.

According to merchandise there is a copyright mark by Sanrio, but he is not listed on the Japanese character directory for unknown reasons.

Donragon is a yellow dragon boy and football player, who wears a red hat and yellow shirt both with "D" written on it, as well as red shorts and shoes. He has a crush on a pink girl dragon called Madonra, and similar to Popeye and his spinach, Donragon is powered up when he sees her, surprising his friend Bikkuri Panda.

While playing football, a villainous team known as the Kaijuu Gundam (based on the idea of kaijuu; a Japanese term for giant monsters popular in films) wrongly issue him a red card and attempt to hurt him. The Kaijuu Gundam are a team of villains lead by Monster Zakki.

In other media

In the video games Sanrio Timenet: Kako-Hen and Mirai-Hen Monster Zakki is one of the final bosses, but not Donragon himself.

  • Donragon debuted in the same year as Badtz-Maru, who was also created by Hisato Inoue. However Donragon appeared later in October while Badtz-Maru was announced in June.
    • Likewise both have a panda character in their universes.
