Teddy Bear

Hello Kitty is sometimes seen with a teddy bear, who is (usually) small, brown, has a small button nose, (sometimes) any article of clothing, and supposedly male. This bear is addressed as male in Growing Up With Hello Kitty and is large in the episode Cleaning Up My Mess. However, the bear can be seen in feminine outfits along with being different sizes and colors, bringing a debate on whether any of the teddies in promotional material is the same teddy from picture to picture. This bear does not have much information surrounding it, as they seemingly exist only to be used in advertisements.

The Teddy also appears in many forms of promotional material, but the generic designs seemed to be replaced with Tiny Chum in later years, and it was often hinted that the unnamed teddy is Tiny Chum due to the generic design being advertised as "Tiny Chum" as seen in a video showcasing a balloon at Puroland being advertised as "Tiny Chum" although sharing the "Teddy Bear" design. It was often used with the "Daisy" variant of Cathy in the late 1990s and early 2000's.

Growing Up With Hello Kitty is the only prominent TV show any of the generic bears have been in. In the episodes Saying I'm Sorry and Cleaning Up My Mess, 2 male Teddy Bears are seen. Kitty has a small light-brown one work on a block computer in Saying I'm Sorry, and in Cleaning Up My Mess, a big brown one with a bowtie is missing, then is found with his nose falling off before Mama fixes him.
