Wish me mell ( ウィッシュミーメル ) is a Sanrio character who debuted in 2010, designed by Cinnamoroll's designer, Miyuki Okumura.[3][4][5]

Mell is a bit clumsy, but she's very kind, and her heart is always in the right place. She enjoys collecting stamps and writing letters; she helps out with mail delivery across Merci Hills. She treasures the letter-shaped keychain given to her by her good friend Lutz. She targets young women, around ages 15-20, who are too shy to outwardly express their feelings and represents simple yet kind phrases such as "I like you" or "thank you."

Unknown until a 2020 post on Shogakukan's Domani, and despite the same post detailing Mell's weight to be a secret, Mell is described as having a chubby (specifically, ぽっちゃりし/potcharisurushi; charmingly plump) belly, and has been trying to lose weight.

Background[]

On December 27, 2010, the Wish me mell Twitter account was launched. Mell only sent out brief, ambiguous statements rather than revealing the character design. She only revealed that she lived in an egg-shaped house, and Sanrio described her as "shy" and "withdrawn," asking fans to send as many encouraging Tweets as possible to show herself. It wasn't until January 25, 2011, that she finally revealed herself.
