—Grinder Genie

Grinder Genie and the Magic Lamp is an episode of the television series Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater that is based on the story of Aladdin.

Story[]

Magic comes to life when Hello Kitty and Sam find a lamp with a genie inside, make three wishes and save Grandpa Kitty from the evil Sultaness Catnip.

Plot[]

Once upon a meow, long ago in an Arabic settlement, the old and very poor fisherman, Grandpa Kitty, was struggling to care for his children. As he gave them a small piece of fish each, he was greeted by Sultaness Catnip, who had been waiting for him to pay his debts. Due to the recent increase in rent, he now owed her twice the amount he had paid her earlier that same month; failure to comply would result in him losing his boat, being thrown into imprisonment, having his children sent to slavery, and doing homework every night. Hello Kitty assured him that they would get him the money he needed by tonight.

Later that day, she and Tuxedo Sam started selling lemonade to the townspeople until they had acquired enough to give to Grandpa. While on the way back, Sam saw that the bag of money was ripping open, but it was too late as the money rolled out of their bag and down a manhole. Sam tried to reach down to retrieve it, but he ended up falling down along with Kitty, who tried to grab him, and into the sewers. They saw a coin and chased it until it got stuck on a wall, which turned out to be a secret door to a hidden cavern. There, Sam found a dusty lamp with some writing on it. As he rubbed the lamp, out of the fog emerged a mysterious magical figure. Wishing to leave this place, Sam and Kitty were suddenly magicked atop a building, slid down from it, and landed in Sultaness Catnip's hot tub. Annoyed by this, Catnip ran off to call her guards. It was clear that the two were in trouble now. Kitty wondered how they even got there, as Sam responded with, "I wish I knew." The figure inside the lamp advised Sam to rub it, thus summoning him again. The figure introduced himself as Grinder Genie, and as Sam tried to make a wish, Catnip's guards began arriving fast. Sam "wished that they could just split," and the genie proceeded with his wish. The two of them split, literally, horrifying the guards and causing them to run away. Sam wished that they were put back together, but not properly the first time before he had the genie do it correctly. Before they could get caught by Catnip, Kitty wished that the carpet they were on could fly. Because the genie could only listen to Sam's commands, he urged him to "blast them out of here." The genie did so as the carpet turned into a rocket and blasted through Catnip and her defenses and into the desert.

Kitty knows how dangerous this genie can be and hopes he could grant their wishes right. The genie tells them to read the instructions as they read, "Wish at your own risk." They now realize that they must read out their wishes carefully and specifically. Sam summons the genie again, wishing that the carpet was controllable. With his wish granted the right way, Sam, Kitty and the genie take off back to Grandpa's boat.

They arrive back at the boat where Grandpa, My Melody and Chip were waiting. They were surprised to see the two arrive in a flying carpet as Sam presents them the lamp as their solution to their problems. Chip and Melody were amazed and wonder if he could use it to get them food. Sam summons the genie once more, much to the astonishment of everyone else. He wishes for the genie to whip up some chow as the latter awaits their orders. Melody asks for a hot dog; a dog panting over the heat. Chip asks for a chili dog; a dog shivering over the cold. Sam decides that he should start this all over.

Catnip was waiting impatiently for Grandpa at the harbor until she saw a big, luxurious yacht in shock. Impressed, she wonders who it is under the ownership of this boat. To her surprise, it was under the control of the old fisherman as he prepares to dock the boat.

Grandpa arrives with the money she owes her, but Catnip was suspicious to find out how he even managed to acquire all of this and goes to find out. On board, Chip wishes for a rock concert as Sam has the genie proceed. When Catnip finally sees the genie, she immediately has the desire to have him all for herself. Chip's wish goes wrong again as rocks rain down from the sky, causing everyone onboard to panic as the genie retreats back to his lamp. Catnip sees this as her opportunity and snatches the lamp right as Sam sees her. Everyone heads for the flying carpet to chase the sultaness down as the yacht sinks.

Catnip arrives back at the palace with the lamp in relief for power, and more importantly risky wishing. She rubs the lamp and the genie is summoned at her own command. He is surprised to find out that he has a different master, as Catnip wishes for a ton of gold, leaving the genie to drop a whole ton of 24K gold on her. Sam and crew arrive to the genie's relief to see his trusted master again. Sam and Catnip have a tussle over the lamp, resulting in the sultaness as the one with the lamp again. Kitty comes up with an idea; if Catnip was a genie, she could make all the wishes she wants done the way she wants it to. Agreeing to this, Catnip wishes to the genie that she was the genie. As a result, the sultaness turns into a genie in the lamp and the previous genie turns into just regular ol' Grinder. Feeling like a free, regular guy, he thanks Kitty for making this possible. Kitty rubs the lamp as Genie Catnip comes out, feeling tricked by the former, meaning that she must grant everything her master (Kitty) wishes for. Kitty wishes for popcorn, but asks her to leave the salt and butter off it, as the genie obliges to her, as her master. Hello Kitty, Tuxedo Sam, My Melody, Chip, Grandpa Kitty and Grinder all laugh and eat popcorn and they all lived happily ever after.
