Harmonyland ( ハーモニーランド), or Sanrio Character Park Harmonyland (サンリオキャラクターパーク ハーモニーランド), is an outdoor Sanrio theme park located in Hiji, a town in the Hayami District in Ōita prefecture, Japan. The park opened on April 26, 1991, over four months after Sanrio Puroland's opening.

The park covers over 58 acres (235,000 km²). Like Sanrio Puroland, the park was partly planned and developed by an American company, Landmark Inc.

The park is divided into four main sections: Harmony Park, Harmony Village, Carnival Square, and Whitebirds Square.

Trivia[]

  • Until 2001, Harmonyland had its own currency that you could purchase upon arrival, titled "DO." DO was used for fees needed to access certain attractions and shows, as opposed to directly using yen. DO300 was equal to 300 yen.
  • Many of the songs performed at Harmonyland are passed down from Sanrio Puroland. The mascot costumes were also castoff by Puroland until 1997, when costume maintenance was improved.
