In 1989, Sanrio released a design collection for Halloween, officially called Haveahappyhalloween. Various goods were produced. The design collection released annually from 1989 until 1992, when the Haveahappyhalloween branding was discontinued.

Original character designs were created for the design collection. Other Sanrio characters also made appearances.
