Hello Kitty Carnival was a free to play simulation game created by Sanrio Digital where the player manages a virtual carnival run by various characters from the Sanrio franchise. The game has since been made unavailable to download with the only way to download it is if you had already installed it prior to its removal.

Game Description[]

"There’s a new amusement park in town! People from all over the world arrive in hordes, buzzing with excitement as they pour in the new theme park overflowing with cuteness! Help Kitty and her adorable Sanrio friends welcome and accommodate visitors!"

Gameplay[]

The report appearing after an in-game day.

When you start an in game day, you have to drag customers to the station that the icon on the top of their head displays. Tap on the exclamation mark icon on their head to get a Sanrio character to serve them, once they are done with a station they will either request to go to another station or line up at the cashier where you earn coins. There is a limit to how long a character can wait before they get impatient and leave your carnival, dropping your EXP and you will not earn any money from them. You can use the Music Box near the customer line to calm impatient customers for a few seconds, but it can only be played once per in-game day and used cautiously. Customers will sometimes drop bonus coins and points after they are done with a station or when they're paid at the cash register.

At the end of each in-game day, a report will be shown showing how much coins and EXP you have earned, how many customers you have satisfied and how many has walked out unhappy and a progress bar for your next level up. You can view this report at any time if you click on the top navigation bar of your screen that displays the in-game time, EXP and currencies.

All-Star Day[]

Every seven in-game days, you will get a special day called All-Star Day. This day will have the customers dressed in nicer, formal wear as well as the general gameplay becoming faster. You will also earn triple the amount of coins and EXP you would normally earn. This day can help benefit the player to earn more money for upgrades in their carnival and swiftly support your level up process.

However, the serving speed of your characters will not change and will still serve customers at the regular speed they normally do despite having increased walking speed in the game mode. Which means if your characters are behind in upgrades, you might struggle immensely in this mode.

Outdoor Section[]

When you load up the game, you will be greeted with the entrance of your carnival. You will be able to see this section once you finish the tutorial for the services section and level up to level 2. You can decorate your carnival's attractions with skins of the attractions that you can purchase with in-game currency and change the character standing in front of the entrance. You don't have to pay anything to change the character that stands in front of the carnival. You can also earn five coins that will randomly appear on one of your attractions every few seconds.

Online Play[]

You are able to add friends to the game. They can be seen in your friends list and you can share your friend codes online to add or get added by someone. You can also connect your Facebook account and find Facebook friends who also linked their accounts into the game.

You and your in-game friends are able to gift and receive one heart, which can be used to unlock party decor for your entrance section of your carnival. You earn bonus coins if you have placed them for the first time. You can also use your hearts to buy a few skins for your attractions.

If you still have the game after its discontinuation, the features of adding friends and earning hearts are rendered obsolete and you are unable to do so normally anymore.

Quests[]

A set of 4-5 quests will appear if you go to the pause menu and go to the quests section or, if you are at the entrance of your carnival, at the menu. The rewards give you EXP and coins, which the amount varies depending on the difficulty of the task and your level. They will refresh every few hours and after those hours are up, new task will be available once you complete one in-game day.

Characters[]

You can hire and upgrade characters to improve their stats and unlock a skin for them once they reach levels three and seven. By default, Pompompurin and Pekkle are available for free without purchase.

Characters Available to Hire[]

VIP Characters[]

There are a special type of customers that will appear in your carnival. Only one VIP customer will appear per in-game day. There are four VIP characters and they consist of Hello Kitty's parents and grandparents. They pay more than a regular customer and if you fail to serve these VIP customers, you'll drop more EXP than a regular customer would and you will miss the opportunity to earn a lot of coins.

Levels[]

In the game, you are able to level up by hitting a certain goal of coins and EXP. Said goals are not specified but progress can be seen in progress bars on the bottom right of the today's report section. Levelling up unlocks characters to hire, more variety in VIP customers, new and additional stations in your carnival, one new attraction, a new background and increases the difficultly of the game.

Trivia[]

  • The gameplay of Hello Kitty Carnival is similar to two of Sanrio Digital's other games Hello Kitty Cafe and Hello Kitty Beauty Salon. Where all three games are both mobile simulation games running a business.
    • However, unlike Hello Kitty Cafe and Beauty Salon, Hello Kitty Carnival lacks the feature of being able to create multiple save files.
  • The game is available to play in the languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Portuguese, Thai, Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
  • When Hello Kitty's Grandmother appears as a VIP in one of your days, all your customers will leave the carnival without paying except for those at the cashier counter line, which will show a lower customer count in your end of the day report. This can be a major issue if you are focused on trying to earn more coins but can also be favorable if your carnival is extremely congested with customers.
