Hello Kitty Island Adventure is a life simulation mobile game co-developed by Sunblink and Sanrio, launched on July 28th, 2023 as an Apple Arcade exclusive, followed by January 2025 for Nintendo Switch and PC, before heading to other major consoles. The storyline features Hello Kitty and her friends who travel to a tropical island for a peaceful getaway, but end up stranded in the deserted Big Adventures Park. You, the player, make an animal avatar and become part of the community as you navigate land, air and water, and decorate, cook and craft around the island, while fixing up the resort and building friendships with Sanrio characters. It is currently receiving regular updates to continue adding fan-favorite characters, seasonal events and new storylines, gameplay and content. The game is rated Everyone (E) by the ESRB as well as ages 4+ on the Apple App store and supports 2-player multiplayer. It features controller support and achievements.

Premise[]
When My Melody is invited to open a gift shop at Big Adventures Park, she invites Hello Kitty and friends—including you, to come along for a tropical island adventure. But things go sideways upon arrival, with the friends separated and the park found abandoned. Join forces with Hello Kitty to restore the desolate theme park to its former glory and create the ultimate island paradise!

- This is the first Sanrio game where the player can have a customizable non-human animal character.
- In two previous instances (Hello Kitty Online and Sanrio World), players could also customize their character, but they were restricted to only human options.
- The gameplay of Hello Kitty Island Adventure is similar to that of Nintendo's Animal Crossing franchise.
- Ironically, several Sanrio stars such as Hello Kitty, My Melody, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, etc., were featured in the New Leaf, Pocket Camp and New Horizons installments in the form of furniture, although the former two has them no longer available due to a very limited-time release plus their current shutdown. However, in Pocket Camp Complete, although officially unavailable, they are still in the game's code and can be accessed, albeit illegitimately, by hacking the internal save data.
- Long-running adult cartoon series South Park referenced the title 'Hello Kitty Island Adventure' 17 years before its existence in the season 10 (2006) episode "Make Love, Not Warcraft", by one of its main characters Butters Stotch; it was actually used to loosely refer to Hello Kitty Online at the time. Due to this coincidental prediction, the actual Hello Kitty Island Adventure game by Sanrio has become a popular meme among fans.
- According to the developers, they did not use the now-iconic reference from the Comedy Central show as an inspiration for the life-sim game.
- This game marks the first appearance of Big Challenges in any Sanrio product. This is explained in-game as him having been frozen for years on end.
- Hello Kitty Island Adventure is one of the rare cases in any Sanrio media where characters with black eyes (Hello Kitty, My Melody, etc.) are depicted with colored irises.
- This is the first appearance of several known characters in an official Sanrio game such as Lloromannic, Milk, and more.
