Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures is an animation series by Sanrio, freely available on their official YouTube channel "Hello Kitty and Friends". Produced by Split Studio, it began its run in 2020 and is currently ongoing in its 10th season. Taking place in the Hello Kitty universe, under short episodes usually lasting about 4 minutes (though a few reach over 6 minutes), it features Hello Kitty and fellow Sanrio stars My Melody, Pompompurin, Badtz-Maru, Kuromi, Keroppi, Chococat, Cinnamoroll, and Pochacco in a series of fun adventures in a peaceful hometown called Sanrio Town where they independently live next to each other and even own stores modeled after them (implying the cast to be older than in other media). Chococat and Cinnamoroll were introduced to the series in Season 2, while Pochacco debuted in Season 4. Additional characters are added in each new season. Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures is critically acclaimed among kids and adults for its cute scenes directed for all ages with a slight emphasis on realism, education, and humor, as well as its original setting and praised voice performances of the iconic main characters.

Throughout each episode, Kitty and company get into various situations that could pertain to the real-world. For example, in one episode, Kitty loses a special bow that she got from her mother (who is unseen), and in two others, she hosts a competition.

The show itself is known for having an animation style nearly identical to official Sanrio artwork and, uniquely, was originally made in English rather than Japanese and the overall theme of Hello Kitty and Supercute Adventures as opposed to the older 2D television series such as Hello Kitty and Friends or Hello Kitty's Paradise is significantly more Americanized, making it the first animated series in 33 years since Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater (1987) to be created specifically for the Western audience - one of the main contributing factors of its success. It is currently unknown if the show officially has a Japanese dub.

13	Kuromi's Bad Day	January 13, 2021	Things go terribly wrong for Kuromi when she starts her day on the wrong foot.		This episode is the first time the bad mood cloud appeared.
14	Left Out	February 3, 2021	Kuromi and Badtz-Maru play Boulder Blast. Keroppi, feeling left out, wishes to have his own dose of the game, but things go south when Keroppi's wish transports him into the game itself, where the young frog has to fight for his life versus the boulders.	To "leave someone out" is to not bring someone to an event.

2	Keroppi Faces The Music	April 22, 2021	Keroppi wants to play the trombone. The problem is, he isn't very good at it...	The term "face the music" means "to face the consequences."
3	All Thumbs	April 28, 2021	My-Melody finds a thumbs down on her latest CuteTube video. Chococat is there to help, but can he and My-Melody find the culprit?		This is the 2nd time where Chococat says "quivering quotation marks"

The title is a play on The Amazing Race.	According to Hello Kitty, the 4 characters (Kuromi, My Melody, Badtz-maru, and Kerropi) traveled over 32,000 miles! This basically means the traveled more than the entire circumference of the earth (which is 24,901 miles).

14	Hello Kitty's Summer Camp Adventure	July 3rd, 2024	It’s Summer, and Hello Kitty and friends are getting ready for summer camp. Keroppi starts feeling a bit homesick. Will this ruin his summer camp adventures?		This is the 2nd time we see a character crying in the series (in this case it was Kerropi).

1	Hello Kitty's Bow Stacking Bonanza	August 21, 2024	My Melody visits Hello Kitty at her café and is amazed by her perfect red bow. Hello Kitty, My Melody and Kuromi start adding bows to everything and this starts their bow-tastic fun filled day. They even start to place bows all over Sanrio Town. But how much is too much?		My Melody and Kuromi's suggestion to put up 50 bows at the café is a reference to Hello Kitty's 50th anniversary. The iris-out effect at the end also appears as the number 50 (with the usual heart representing the 0) to reflect this.
2	Cinnamoroll the Champion	August 28, 2024	Cinnamoroll is watching Pochacco play soccer and wishes he can be as confident in sports. Pochacco hears of this and helps Cinnamoroll find his inner “champion”. Will there be a favorite sport Cinnamoroll excels in?
3	Would My Melody Rather...?	September 4, 2024	Cinnamoroll and My Melody play a fun game of “Would you rather...?”. This leads to lots of choices getting made. Some choices are easy and some a bit hard.	The title gets it's name from the game "Would You Rather...?", where you ask someone to pick between two things usually done to you. The title also combines the game name (Would you rather...?) with My Melody's name.	This is the 1st time Hello Kitty shrugs
4 5	Hello Kitty’s Pretty Little Cupcakes	September 11, 2024 September 18, 2024	The newest sensation at the Hello Kitty Cafe is “Pretty Little Cupcakes”, the tiniest cupcakes in town. And everyone’s in line to see the cutest treats. If smaller equals cute, is this a challenge to make them even smaller?		This is the first time we see 2 characters holding hands (in this case it was Hello Kitty and Chococat, seen in part 2). Also this was the first time that reuses a "mistake" from a previous episode (in this case, making something too small, which first occurred in Season 5). This is also the second time Dear Daniel is the first character to speak in an episode. Also these episodes somewhat link to Hello Kitty Holiday Cookie Swap as Hello Kitty and Chococat are also baking but since Chococat got good at baking in Season 8 he is better at baking in these episodes.
6	Pompompurin's Desert Dessert	Sepetember 25, 2024	Hello Kitty and Friends go on a road trip to the desert, but Pompompurin seems to have high hopes for this trip. He heard this was a dessert trip! Find out what happens when he realizes there are no desserts waiting for him in the desert. Will Hello Kitty and Friends find a way to surprise and delight him?
7	Kuromi's Which Witch	October 2, 2024	As Halloween draws near, Kuromi is having trouble picking out her favorite witch costume. She puts her three favorite picks to the test. Which one will make the cut?		Hangyodon appears as a cameo character for the first time.

Main Characters[]

Hello Kitty[]

Kitty is cheerful, kind, and always helps out her friends when they need her. Whenever they need assistance or advice, her friends go to her. She owns a café in the series. Her best friend is My Melody.

My Melody[]

My Melody is always happy and likes to spread her positivity to all her friends, although she can feel insecure at times. She owns a shop called "Small Gift Big Smile" (a reference to Sanrio's company slogan). However, she seems to be highly attentive to detail and very organized as she can't stand messes, sometimes being somewhat of an inconvenience. Her best friends are Hello Kitty and Kuromi.

Keroppi[]

Keroppi is a good-natured and optimistic frog who can be a bit forgetful, and even clumsy at times. He owns the Mini-Mart in Sanrio Town, and his best friends are Badtz-Maru and Kuromi.

Badtz-Maru[]

Badtz-Maru is a fairly laid-back penguin who likes skateboarding and playing video games. He wants to prove to everyone that he's the coolest. He owns an arcade known as the "XO Arcade." His best friends are Keroppi and Kuromi (whom he has a crush on).

Kuromi[]

Kuromi, the rival of My Melody, likes to act tough and cool but is secretly very girly. Her best friends are My Melody, Badtz-Maru (who she has a crush on), and Keroppi.

Pompompurin[]

Pompompurin is a warm-hearted dog who loves to sleep and eat a lot. He owns an ice cream truck.

Chococat[]

Chococat is a very intelligent cat with radio antenna-like whiskers that will alert him about something. He will always help out his friends with anything that requires heavy thinking. More often than not, any event that interests him to a great extent will cause him to say his catchphrase, "Quivering quotation marks!"

Cinnamoroll[]

Cinnamoroll is a very sweet, yet shy dog who is always ready to help out his friends when they need it.

Pochacco[]

Pochacco is a very energetic and playful dog who is very active in playing sports. He always wants to play with his friends.

Trivia[]

Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures is among the most successful shows ever released by Sanrio. The series itself being officially freely available on YouTube also makes it easily one of the most accessible worldwide.
As seen in the "Hello Kitty's Bow Chase" episode, Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures reveals that Hello Kitty's trademark red bow is actually a gift from mother.
In this show, Cinnamoroll is revealed to be an expert dancer and is proficient at table tennis, as seen in a few episodes.
Unlike most other animated series, and staying true to her official artwork, Hello Kitty is not depicted with a visible mouth.
Fitting the present day setting, every character owns a phone/tablet to connect to the internet or take pictures.
This series is the first time since Hello Kitty's Animation Theater in 2001 where a 2D animation series is released in the United States (excluding educational-based ones such as Growing Up With Hello Kitty).
Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures is the first piece of media where Kuromi has her role changed from an antagonist (seen in Onegai My Melody) to a much friendlier character and no longer has any ill will towards My Melody to the point their relationship is the complete opposite as previously depicted; She is best friends with her rival (strongly suggesting the two made up between the shows' events). Despite being reformed, however, she retains her mischievous behavior. Although her sidekick Baku is present, her gang, the "Kuromi's 5", are absent.
Notably, some episodes have references to various popular classic films or other media. For example, in "Kuromi's Night of Living Desserts," Kuromi says the infamous line "Say hello to my little friend!" to a monster while holding a gun, based on Scarface. Another, the three-part episode "Hello Kitty in 'Back to My Friends'", is a homage to Back to the Future.
Due to how the show adds more characters to the cast every so often, some fans are currently hoping for Mimmy (Hello Kitty's twin sister), the Little Twin Stars, and more to make an appearance.
My Melody is implied to suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in this series, as seen in the "My Melody's Friendship Ultra Blast!" episode, where she is shown to be intolerable of messes, and values neatness enough that she goes to great lengths to clean them up and even hallucinates herself as a heroine fighting a monster.

A running gag in the series is whenever a character is in a bad mood but is not aware of it, a thick cloud in a darker shade of their theme color appears over their heads and seems impossible to escape until they find a way to cheer themselves up with the help of their friends. It is known as the Bad Mood Cloud. So far, Kuromi, My Melody, and Cinnamoroll have experienced such an event.
One of the background characters, My Sweet Piano, one of My Melody's closest friends, is heard speaking English for the first time in this series, as her previous appearance in Onegai My Melody has herself only communicating like that of an actual sheep.
