This is the first episode that reuses a "mistake" from a previous episode (in this case, making something too small, which first occurred in Season 5). 1 147 Hello Kitty's Holiday Pajama Party December 11, 2024 Hello Kitty is hosting a holiday-themed pajama party, but Badtz-Maru isn't interested. The scenes where Badtz-Maru is panicking over having to wear pajamas and being chased by giant versions of Kuromi and My Melody are reminiscent of the Mario franchise's Luigi's Mansion spinoff games.
The plush fox from "My Melody's Plush One" makes a cameo in one scene.

Pompompurin Drops the Ball December 18, 2024
December 24, 2024
The New Year is nigh in Sanrio Town, and Pompompurin is given the honor of dropping the ball. He just needs to stay awake, though... Part 2 is the final episode released in 2024.
The ball that Pompompurin has to drop is very similar to the one used during New Year's Eve celebrations in New York City.
Part 2 is also the first episode to be released on a Tuesday instead of the usual Wednesday (as Wednesday is Christmas Day and Sanrio's offices would have been closed).
4 150 My Melody's Photo Frenzy January 1, 2025 My Melody and Kuromi build a photobooth in the dressing room of My Melody's shop. This is the first episode released in 2025. This is also the first episode to be released on New Year's Day.
5 151 Kuromi, What's in your bag? January 8, 2025 Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi and Badtz-Maru play a game of “What’s in your bag?" Although Hello Kitty sees Kuromi's picture of Badtz-Maru in her bag, she doesn't show it to the group. This is because Kitty and My Melody already know that Kuromi has a crush on Badtz-Maru.
Badtz-Maru also reciprocates these feelings, but is more hesitant in doing so.
6 152 Cinnamoroll's Top Battle January 15, 2025 Badtz-maru competes in the annual Topsy-Turvy Top Tournament, attempting to beat Cinnamoroll to take home the champion title. The tops used in the tournament, and the tournament itself, are both likely inspired by the Beyblade series.
This episode also has a similar story to Dynamic Derby (Season 2 episode 15) except the main character of the story and the sport are different.
7 153 Pompompurin's Cozy Holiday January 22, 2025 Pompompurin tries to find a quiet spot to enjoy the holidays. Chococat mentions the park's name while he is talking to Pompompurin (Friendship Park). 8 154 Cinnamoroll's Cloud Candy January 29, 2025 Cinnamoroll wants to make his cloud candy, but is missing a key ingredient. Technically this is true since February 29th does not appear until the next leap year. However when it's not a leap year people (who have their birthday on February 29th) celebrate on either the last day of February or the first day of March.
13 159 Pochacco's Super Rad Workout March 5, 2025 Pochacco is creating a workout app and recruits Kuromi and Badtz-Maru to help him.

Supporting Characters[]

Reception[]

Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures is critically acclaimed among kids and adults alike, for its cute scenes directed for all ages with a slight emphasis on realism, education, and humor, as well as its original setting, writing, and praised voice performances of the iconic main characters. It is even now considered by some fans to be one of Sanrio's greatest animated works alongside My Melody & Kuromi. The show itself is also known for having an animation style nearly identical to official Sanrio artwork and, uniquely, was made in English rather than Japanese and the overall theme of Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures as opposed to the older 2D television series such as Hello Kitty and Friends or Hello Kitty's Paradise is significantly more Americanized, making it the first animated series in over three decades since Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater (1987) to be created specifically for the Western audience - one of the main contributing factors of its success.

A rather minor criticism among some fans is the episodes simply being too short, as it is claimed the series' content is suitable for a full 25+ minutes.

Trivia[]

  • In Japan, the web series was retitled Sanrio Characters Supercute Adventures.[1]
    • The Japanese dub also has its own season order, with Season 1 dubbing Season 6 in the English original and Season 2 dubbing Season 7 episodes.
  • This show is the longest running Hello Kitty cartoon in terms of seasons, with 12 currently produced.
  • The gap between the end of season 11 and the beginning of season 12 is by far the longest in the series' history, at more than 6 months.
  • Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures is one of, if not the most successful shows ever released by Sanrio. The series itself being officially freely available on YouTube also makes it easily one of the most accessible worldwide.
Cinnamon flying away from bad day cloud

Cinnamoroll attempting to run away from his Bad Mood Cloud in "Cinnamoroll's Bad Day"

  • A running gag in the series is whenever a character is in a bad mood but is not aware of it, a thick cloud in a darker shade of their theme color appears over their heads and seems impossible to escape until they find a way to cheer themselves up with the help of their friends. It is known as the Bad Mood Cloud. So far, Kuromi, My Melody, and Cinnamoroll have experienced such an event.
  • Unlike most other Sanrio shows, the characters are living independently, owning houses and even stores modeled after them. This implies the cast to be at an older age than usual.
  • My Melody's shop "Small Gift Big Smile" is a direct reference to Sanrio's company slogan "Small Gift, Big Smile".
  • "Kuromi's Bad Day" is by far the most viewed episode of the series, as well as the Hello Kitty and Friends channel as a whole with over 34 million views[2]
  • As seen in the "Hello Kitty's Bow Chase" episode, this series reveals that Hello Kitty's trademark red bow is actually a gift from her mother.
  • In this show, Cinnamoroll is revealed to be an expert dancer and is proficient at table tennis, as seen in a few episodes.
  • Unlike most other animated series, and staying true to their official artwork, Hello Kitty, Pochacco, and Dear Daniel are not depicted with visible mouths.
  • Various episodes throughout the show contain references to popular classic American-based media. For example, the three-part episode "Back to my Friends" is a homage to Back to the Future.
  • Excluding Dear Daniel, Chococat are the only one among the show's main cast that is not one of Sanrio's flagship characters (as he is much more popular in the U.S. than in Japan).
My Melody utterly shocked

My Melody completely shocked in "Birthday Mess"

  • In the first season of the show, specifically the "Birthday Mess" episode, characters can be seen with comical expressions uncommon in any Sanrio media depicting wide open eyes when characters become startled. These were likely experimental as they aren't shown in later seasons.
  • Several characters share voice actors or actresses with other characters. My Melody and Chococat share Michelle Marie, Cinnamoroll and Kuromi share Jenny Yokobori, Hello Kitty and Pochi share Sarah Anne Willaims and Baku and Dear Daniel share Sunny Onorati as their voice actors.
  • The episode "Hello Keroppi" when Hello Kitty and Keroppi temporarily swap bodies has an animation error where debug features are briefly visible on-screen when the latter talks to the wishing fish.
  • Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures marks the first time Kuromi appears in Sanrio media where she is not an antagonist, with her being more friendly and even best friends with My Melody rather than showing hatred towards her from Onegai My Melody.
Kuromi and My Melody seeing the audience

"Who, them?" (Kuromi and My Melody seeing the audience)

  • Humorously and similarly to Sanrio's web shorts, the characters of the show appear to be aware of the audience. In the episode "Hello Kitty's Kindness Challenge", Kuromi, My Melody, and Hello Kitty can be explicitly seen breaking the fourth wall as the latter encourages the viewers to participate in their "challenge" for World's Kindness Day.
    • 4th wall breaks can also be seen in some other episodes as well, most often at the ending.
  • In the episode "My Melody's Ultra Friendship Blast!", My Melody is implied to have some level of obsessive-compulsive-disorder (OCD), due to her intolerance of messes and need to keep things clean.
  • Cinnamoroll, Chococat, Pochacco, and Dear Daniel were not part of the main cast on the show's first season, as they were initially background characters and added later.
    OMMreferencesSuperCute

Comparison of the portraits with the original screenshots from Onegai My Melody

  • Some portraits seen in the backgrounds of My Melody and Kuromi's rooms are from Onegai My Melody, with My Melody's dress being altered from the original appearance in the anime.[3][4]
  • A limited release Japanese Dub was uploaded to Sanrio Japan's YouTube channel on April 18th, 2024, dubbing only 15 episodes so far.[5]
  • Some characters have another English voice actor outside of Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures. For example, Kuromi and Cinnamoroll are voiced by Jenny Yokobori in the show, but in the dub of Kuromi's Pretty Journey, the former is voiced by Diana Garnet, and the latter is voiced by Anya Floris in Cinnamoroll's dubbed web shorts.
    • However, Sarah Anne Williams reprises her voice as Hello Kitty in Hello Kitty Super Style! and Michelle Marie and Jenny Yokobori return as My Melody and Kuromi's respective English voices in the Netflix series My Melody & Kuromi. Marie also voiced My Sweet Piano in the latter show.
