Ruby doesn't want to be turned into a Jewel Charm

In the magical land of Jewel Land, it is cleaning day. Halite tells the Jewelpets that they will be transformed into their Jewel Charm forms to avoid getting in the way of this and then be sent to the Dream Forest to sleep. As the Jewelpets are being turned into Jewel Charms, Garnet is concerned over her appearance before being transformed with Sapphie asking if that's even important as they'll be charms, Sapphie then asks where Ruby is to which Garnet suggests she ran away. Ruby not wanting to be turned into a jewel and sleep all day runs away as she thinks it's too boring.

In the Human World, a young girl named Rinko Kougyoku is daydreaming about a Prince Charming on a white horse coming from the sky to rescue her from her boring life before being called by one of her classmates, who has decided that the class representative would be Rinko through a draw, being decided as she was daydreaming. Later, Rinko with her friend Minami Asaoka talk about the decision, with Rinko believing she isn't good at being a class representative and that Minami should switch places with her, while they're talking, Aoi Arisuwaga walks past them, with Aoi congratulating Rinko, however Rinko then asks if Aoi could take her place instead, Minami then tells Aoi that the position has already been decided and runs off with Rinko. Continuing to discuss about Rinko as class representative, Minami argues that Rinko has said her life has been too boring, and that being class representative was the change she wanted, with Rinko still having doubts about it. Minami then offers to celebrate with okonomiyaki at her family's place.

Back in Jewel Land, all the Jewelpets are taken by Halite to be sent off to the Dream Forest, however she notices one of them is missing, meanwhile Ruby is at a beach collecting seashells to give to her friends Garnet and Sapphie, while this happens, the pelican postman carrying the Jewelpets is blown by a strong gust of wind and drops the jewel charms, sending them to the human world. It is now night in the human world, with Rinko wanting to go home, feeling better about herself being the class representative, soon they notice shooting stars falling from the sky. It is also dark in Jewel Land, with Ruby noticing that nobody is around, even when she knocks on Garnet and Sapphie's houses. Wondering if the cleaning isn't done yet, she goes to ask Raku Mojo only to find out the truth about what happened. Raku Mojo then decides to send Ruby to the human world to get the Jewel Charms back as punishment for her running away, with Ruby also needing a human to help her. While looking at the balcony at her home, Rinko wishes she had the courage to talk at the upcoming ceremony at her school, then she sees a shooting star heading towards her, landing inside her glass of water.

The Prime Minister then activates Code Jewel and makes contact with Jewel Land and Raku Majo to be notified about the Jewelpets being sent to the human world, with Raku asking for the Prime Minister's help in retrieving them as human help is needed to find them, she asks him to look for a human with a red ruby in Takaragaseki City. The Prime Minister then asks his secretary, Keigo Tatewaki, to search for the human with the ruby, with Keigo starting his search at the jewelry stores in town. Meanwhile, Rinko and Minami are heading to a jewelry store to see what the ruby charm would be worth. As they are close to the store, a couple of thieves break out the store, with Minami attacking one of them in the head, while the other then holds Rinko hostage, before Minami can do something, Keigo kicks the other thief and saves Rinko, when he asks if she's ok, Rinko drops the Jewel Charm and Keigo realises that Rinko is the human he was looking for.

At Rinko's home, Keigo explains everything about Jewel Land and the Jewelpets to Rinko, giving her the Jewelpet Pocketbook to help turn the charms to their original forms. Rinko is skepitcal about it but before she can say anything more, Keigo explains to her that both the Jewelpets and Jewel Land are a national secret. Minami then finds the jewelpet that Rinko has in the pocketbook, learning that Ruby's Jewel Power is the magic of courage, which Rinko wants to help get over her fears. Rinko and the others then head outside to turn Ruby back to her normal form, in an area that almost no one passes. Rinko then says the magic spell to transform Ruby, with Ruby's Jewel Charm appearing around her neck in the process. With Ruby being returned to normal, Rinko asks if Ruby can really use magic, and if she can use it to give her courage to talk in public, with Ruby saying won't use her magic for free, and will use it if Rinko agrees to find the rest of the Jewel Charms. After agreeing, Ruby then uses her jewel flash, which causes a large explosion. A flashback shows that Ruby has a zero in her magic grade. The explosion caused a large crater to form, which Keigo then asks to cover up as an undetonated bomb to avoid suspicion. Despite Rinko and Minami questioning if Ruby's magic will actually work or not, she promises it will work, with the effects happening the next day, in reality she is lying as her magic barely actually works.

The next day, Rinko is anxious about the upcoming ceremony, hoping that Ruby's magic will work, however, Rinko experiences bad luck on her way to school. At the ceremony, Rinko is the next one to speak, being so nervous she can't move. Suddenly Ruby flies into the school as she's worried for Rinko, while Rinko does feel encouragement with Ruby's presence, several people look at Ruby suspicious as to what she is, Minami quickly makes an excuse that Ruby is just an advanced toy and lets Rinko go up to the stage. Still nervous about speaking, Rinko remembers her dream about a Prince Charming on a white horse, only instead it was a white rabbit, hoping her life isn't boring anymore, Rinko finally has the courage to speak, congratulating the new students at the ceremony.
