Koalaland (コアラランド) is a group of two koala Sanrio characters who debuted in 1984. The two cream-colored koala bears, one big and one small, each wear a red ribbon around their neck.
A logo for Fujifilm's Fujicolor products is seen on some Koalaland goods. Sanrio licensed out the characters to be used in a promotion. They collaborated with Fujifilm again in 1988 to create Captain Jim, a promotional character for the 1988 Olympics.
Koalaland also appeared on promotional goods for Dai-ichi Securities, a subsidiary of Dai-ichi Life Holdings, with promo merchandise dated 1986. Dai-ichi Life also used other Sanrio characters on their goods until they dropped the license.
