Maimaimaigoen (まいまいまいごえん) is Sanrio's first ever ensemble drama, following a group of 16 nursery children and their two teachers from Hydrangea Nursery School, debuting in 2021. The series is meant to be personal and diverse, following the characters' growing pains as they navigate the difficulties of today's world. Maimaimaigoen has received a manga, a video game, and music created by various vocaloid artists.
Synopsis[]
One day, the nursery group was enjoying a field trip at Sanrio Puroland, when they were suddenly swept away into a seemingly abandoned amusement park, Yuropia. The nursery meets a strange creature, the park's mascot, Froggy Egg (カエルタマゴ, Kaerutamago), who explains that, in order for them to return to their world, they must challenge the park's attractions.
Characters[]
Shinta (シンタ) is a boy with red hair, blue eyes, and a white shirt with black shorts. He's bright and lively, and he stands out among the rest of the nursery. Together with Wataru, Mamoru, Rinrin, and Madoka, he has formed a “Hero Squad.” His birthday is August 31.
Hikaru (ヒカル) is a girl with blue hair and reddish eyes, sporting a blue dress and a yellow hat. She's a responsible person who's been said to be the glue that keeps everyone in the nursery together. She's tough but fair, and everyone loves her like an older sister. She has a sweet side toward her childhood best friend, Maria. Her birthday is May 12.
Daigoro (ダイゴロウ) is a boy with orange hair and green eyes, wearing a red bandana and a white tank top with black shorts. He's energetic and friendly, and it's been said that he makes everyone around him very happy. He loves to exercise, so he gets hungry very quickly, and he loves to eat. His birthday is July 21.
Kanata (カナタ) is a boy with yellow hair with blue highlights, sporting a blue-gray jacket and gray shorts. He's a bit naughty and loves to annoy people for attention. He always carries his beloved plushie, Hinata. His birthday is September 9.
Hayate (ハヤテ) is a boy with gray hair and pink eyes, wearing a black mask, a large baseball cap, and a purple jacket. He's an independent child and remains relatively distant from the other children. He puts up a front, but he's actually very intuitive and insightful. His birthday is October 20.
Zoya (ゾーヤ) is a boy[1] with white-lilac hair and light hazel eyes, wearing a fuzzy purple sweater and a purple bow on his head. He's very observant and, while it doesn't seem like it, he always knows what's going on and how to help. His birthday is December 19.
Lion (ライオン) and Lime (ライム) are sisters, with Lion being older than Lime by one year. They both have licorice hair with gray highlights, both sporting kimonos, Lion's being yellow and Lime's being green. Lion is a calm, private person who is good at literacy and martial arts, as she is an honors student. Her birthday is May 3. Lime is happy, impulsive, and a little naïve, and she adores her big sister. Her birthday is July 9.
Maria (マリア) is a girl with long, light pink hair and blue eyes who wears a frilly pink and yellow dress. She moves through life at her own pace, and despite her cute, childlike appearance, she's still bold and fearless. She's always with her childhood best friend, Hikaru. Her birthday is March 25.
Yuzuriha (ユズリハ) is a girl with dirty blonde hair and green eyes, sporting a white top, turquoise skirt, and a yellow beret. She's a fashionable influencer who goes to great lengths to always look perfect. She's a sore loser and is a bit self-centered. She adores Hayate. Her birthday is January 6.
Madoka (マドカ) is a girl with pink and purple hair and teal eyes, wearing a purple top, white shorts, and round, black glasses on her head. She always carries a camera and loves taking pictures, even when the atmosphere isn't the best for it. She's nosey and never wants to miss out on the latest scoop. She loves Yuzuriha the most out of all the children. Her birthday is November 4.
Mamoru (マモル) is a boy with gray hair and a magenta highlight with pink eyes and glasses, wearing a light gray sweater vest and a magenta bow tie, using a wheelchair. He's an intelligent but timid kid who loves to read, especially manga, and always tries to avoid scary experiences. His birthday is April 20.
Rinrin (リンリン) is a girl with black hair and teal highlights, wearing a yellow top and hat with frog hair clips and a frog bag. She seems intimidating by her pouty face, but she loves everyone in the nursery. Her backpack holds her band-aids and her regular medications. Her birthday is February 16.
Wataru (ワタル) is a boy wearing a blue bear hoodie over his navy blue hair. He's energetic and loves candy, and is often seen smiling and with his eyes closed. He isn't good at complicated things like math, as it often makes his brain freeze up. He often imitates Shinta, who calls him "Blue." His birthday is June 14.
Daiya (ダイヤ) is a boy wearing a big, yellow onesie over his light blue hair. He's not good at speaking, so he communicates with gestures. He has a great memory, but is unable to communicate his thoughts. His birthday is December 25.
Aki (アキ) is a girl with coral hair with yellow and blue eyes, wearing a yellow beanie, a yellow scarf, and a white dress. She loves art, especially crafts. She's a little dramatic, so she uses exaggerated words and phrases. Her birthday is November 23.
Yuu Okada (岡田ユウ) is the male nursery teacher. He's bright and kind, but inexperienced and indecisive. He wants to have a good relationship with the children, but he appears unreliable because of his lack of training. His birthday is January 14.
Rumi-sensei (ルミ先生) is the female nursery teacher and the senior teacher to Yuu. She's strong, kind and dependable, and remains calm for the children so that they don't panic. She's well-liked by her students, their parents, and her coworkers. Her birthday is March 9.

Maimaimaigoen has received a manga series, which currently has nine episodes and has been updated since November 11, 2021. It can be read in English (unofficial) here.
The series has also become a video game series by video game developer, Kanawo. The game has four episodes and can be played from the official website or though the Game Magazine App, but you can watch an ongoing playthrough with English subtitles (unofficial) here.

In October 2023, the mobile gaming app Hello Sweet Days released a collection featuring Maria.
