Mewkledreamy

Mewkledreamy, also known as Mew, is a stuffed kitten character created by the Japanese company Sanrio. Mew is gentle and kind. She loves strolling through flower gardens and chatting about fashion, love, and secrets. She has the power to enter people's dreams by sleeping near them and she is studying dream interpretation.

Origin[]

Mew was stitched by a skilled fairy who worked in the Miracle Dreamy Kingdom which is located high in the clouds. One day Mew slipped through the clouds and fell into the arms of Yume Hinata, a 12 year-old girl living in Japan. Yume took Mew home and put her to sleep. Yume loved Mew and talked to her everyday, however Mew could not speak and wanted to express her feelings to the girl. So Mew made a request to the moon to be able to speak. The moon shined brightly and Mew's star on her left ear twinkled and her wish was granted. Yume was surprised and delighted and the two chatted about fashion and love. At night Yume fell asleep with Mew by her side and they had the same happy dream together of flying through the sky with balloons and taking walks in a flower garden. In this way, Yume and Mew became close friends, even in their dreams.

Appearance[]

Mewkledreamy has lilac fur with white paws and pink star-shaped paw pads. She also has white fur around her pink nose and mouth. She has dark brown oval eyes and eyelashes, fluffy cheeks, and a long lilac tail. She has pointy ears with pink ear linings and a small yellow star on her left ear. Mew has visible stitches on her ears and down her abdomen.

She wears a white collar with a pink bow, and a pink gingham bow on her head (lilac gingham in earlier designs). Mew is often seen with her favorite star-shaped polka-dotted pillow.

Anime[]

Mew is the titular character of the anime television series Mewkledreamy which debuted April 2020. A second season, titled Mewkledreamy Mix!, aired the following year.

Trivia[]

Her favorite drink is hot milk.
She is afraid of dogs with the exception of Q-chan.
She ends her sentences in "~mya" which resembles cat noises.
'Mewkle' is a combination of the words 'Mew' plus 'Twinkle', twinkle is in reference to the star on her ear.^[1]
