Mewnyan (ミュウニャン) is a Sanrio character that was created in collaboration with Mizuho Investors Securities (みずほインベスターズ証券) in 2000. Mizuho Investors Securities was previously known as Kankaku Securities. Sanrio collaborated with them in 1985 to create their previous mascots, Lucky and Luppy.
Mewnyan is a anthropomorphic cat with black eyes, a yellow nose, and four black whiskers. Their body and face are white, with a blue section on the back of their head that crests around their ears. The tip of their tail and pads of their footpaws are blue. Mewnyan wears a blue shirt.
An unnamed pink and white mouse character accompanies them, often seen perched on their head or holding onto Mewnyan's tail.
Mewnyan was retired as a mascot sometime between 2006 to 2013. In January of 2013, Mizuho Investors Securities merged with Mizuho Securities and dissolved. The character's copyright remains held by Sanrio and has been renewed as of 2021.
