—King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table

Paws of the Round Table is an episode of the television series Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater that is based on the story of The Sword in the Stone.

Story[]

Once upon a meow, brave King Arthur (Chip) defeated a mighty dragon to rescue the beautiful Lady Bunnyvere… but not without the help of his magic sword Excalibur and, of course, Hello Kitty!

Plot[]

Before the play, Catnip was in her dressing room filing her nails as Chip places a witch hat on her. Fed up of always playing as a witch, Catnip taunts Chip of how small he is to be a star. The latter tries to prove her wrong that "size isn't everything," as Hello Kitty calls out for everyone to get into their places for its curtain time.

Once upon a meow, in merry old England, knights throughout the land have sought out to pull the laser sword, Excalibur from the enchanted stone. As much as they tried, they were unsuccessful. Furlin sends out his apprentice, Arthur to try and pull Excalibur from its stone, but Arthur knows that he possibly can't do it after seeing all the other knights try. Furlin knows that he won't simply give up without trying, so Arthur goes to do exactly what he had in mind. Feeling taunted by all the other knights, Furlin tells him to ignore them and pull Excalibur out. As he look at the sword's stone that reads "WHOSOEVER PULLETH THE SWORD FROM THIS STONE SHALL BE KING," Arthur grows confident and proceeds; he pulls, and Excalibur is released from the stone! Everyone was impressed, but the Black Knight wasn't as he knows someone so lightweight couldn't possibly pull Excalibur out. As Arthur asks his mentor if him wielding Excalibur means he's king, the Black Knight, suspicious that Furlin used his magic to Arthur's advantage, tries to play it fair by placing the sword back in its stone and pull it out again. He tries, but it won't go. He has Arthur do it again, as he manages to pull it out again with ease, infuriating the knight. Furlin hails Arthur as the true king of the land, but nobody else will, knowing that they're not going to be ruled by a youngster as the knights leave. Feeling insulted, Arthur deems this sword useless to him because nobody will listen to or respect him. Furlin advises him that respect is something to be earned by performing a great deed to prove his worthiness as a king. He pulls out a newspaper and finds a mission that's perfect for him; Lady Bunnyvere has been held captive by a vicious dragon and only someone strong and mighty like Arthur can rescue her. As long as Arthur's got Excalibur on his side, nothing can defeat him as Arthur's rescue mission begins.

Somewhere else in the English wilderness, the Black Knight searches around to find Morgan le Fur's invisible cottage until he bumps into it. As he enters the cottage with its more visible interior, Morgan asks him if he has Excalibur, as a nervous Black Knight explains to her what happened. Enraged about Arthur with Excalibur and becoming king despite not being old enough to be out after dark, Morgan uses her map to track him down to plan on stealing the sword and overthrowing his position. After finding his whereabouts, she realizes that Arthur is heading to the dragon's castle to rescue Lady Bunnyvere. Morgan sends the knight to go after him, rushing him with magic.

As Arthur approaches the bridge his route takes him, he is confronted by the Black Knight and the two have a sword on sword duel. The Black Knight knocks Excalibur off Arthur's paws and into the lake and before he could finish him off, Sir Lancelot Penguin joins the fight and manages to defeat him. Lancelot introduces himself to the youngster, asking him of why he's come this far. After realizing he's King Arthur, he gladly begins to escort him to the Kitty of the Lake, keeper of lost treasures. Overhearing about where Excalibur is, the Black Knight drops down into the lake as the two jump in.

Down below at the Lake of the Lost and Found, the Kitty of the Lake welcomes the Black Knight here as he tries to claim that he owns that sword. But in order to prove his ownership for it, he must answer three questions as Arthur and Lancelot follow behind, seeing he made it ahead of them.

The Question Board

  • Question 1: Name
    • Answer: The Black Knight
  • Question 2: Favorite Ice Cream
    • Answer: Rocky Road
  • Question 3: 365/12 = ?
    • Answer: ?????

Failing to answer the last question, the Black Knight gets ejected from the lake as Kitty calls up for Arthur and Lancelot next.

The Black Knight is sent flying from the lake and crashes through the roof of Morgan's cottage. Still enraged that he still doesn't have the sword, Morgan sends the Black Knight off again that he becomes paranoid. Even if Arthur may have escaped him, Morgan will make sure that he won't be so lucky trying to face off the dragon.

Back at the lake, Arthur is down to his last question in order to prove ownership of Excalibur.

The Question Board

  • Final Question: Favorite Color
    • Answer: Royal Blue

Correct!

With Excalibur reclaimed, the heroes continue onward to the dragon's castle.

At the castle, George the Dragon is seen upsetting Lady Bunnyvere whilst trying to get his affections for her. George then answers the knocking door; Morgan had come to warn him about Arthur taking his love interest away from him. She tells him that she's here to help him, that he slowly begins to trust her. The heroes arrive at the castle, hoping they're not too late. Arthur arrives and confronts the dragon, which makes Bunnyvere pleased to be saved. George begins to blow fire as Arthur uses the sword to defend himself. However, the fire causes the sword to get hot that Arthur burns his paws and drops the sword, landing in Morgan's bucket of water. As George is about to fry down the heroes, Lancelot brings out his shield to reflect the fire back, successfully doing so as George ends up in heartburn. Morgan runs off with Excalibur, which barely leaves any options to stop her now. Bunnyvere sets a hooded ear down by having George help Arthur get Excalibur back if he really wants to show his affections for her. Arthur and George team up and burn Morgan to reclaim the sword. Morgan uses her magic in an attempt to punish George, but Arthur uses Excalibur to ricochet it back at her, causing Morgan le Fur to run away.

Having earned respect after his daring rescue, the people of the land hail King Arthur and Queen Bunnyvere as the king raises a toast to his knights of the round table; Sir George, royal cook and personal bodyguard to the queen, Sir Lancelot Penguin, guardian of the kingdom, Sir Furlin the Wise, the king's personal advisor, and Sir Black Knight, who has agreed to serve the king. All his men raise their glasses and shout "Long Live King Arthur!" The story ends.
