- "(Laughter) Sorry, you're too late! This last dream was Number 100, so I'm a grownup! I don't have to listen to you. I can do whatever it is I please! (More laughter)"
- —Puffin gloats about having gotten 100 dreams.
Puffin is a minor character from Hello Kitty and Friends. He is the titular antagonist of The Dream Thief who would later reform after getting caught.
Character Description[]
Puffin is a black creature with the shape of an anglerfish and bulging eyes of a super-light shade of yellow. His lure glows whenever sleepers dream close to his location.
Whenever Puffin attacks the dream of his target, a black hole spawns in the dream, with the scenery getting sucked into the gravitational abyss.
History[]
Puffin first strikes when Mimmy White dreams that she is painting a riverside view. When Puffin makes his move, a black hole spawns and swallows the scenery, including Mimmy, who becomes salty over the dream's end. The sisters plot to catch him.
Kitty is later attacked by Puffin during her own dream, in which she is a pianist. This causes a black hole to suddenly pop up above the audience, sucking them and Kitty in, causing her to wake up. She and Mimmy, who was awakened by the scream, look at a chair in the room, spotting Puffin and chasing him into the fireplace. Kitty demands that Puffin leaves his spot, at which point he introduces himself. Puffin explains that his family had taken over for dream-eating, but the taste of good dreams was delicious to him. This combined with his impatience, causing Puffin to abandon his responsibilities and gorge himself on good dreams, as 100 dreams are required for his race to become adulthood. He escapes and is then seen stalking a bear who dreams of being a superhero. Puffin makes his move, and the bear complains about his dream being stolen. Puffin then goes on a dream-devouring rampage, vindicating the tale that Fifi told, although Fifi has her dream stolen during his rampage as well.
Kitty and her friends formulate a plan to get their revenge. After the kids spring their trap, Puffin gets caught, but his speed keeps him from getting caught, only for his escape to be foiled by a stomach-ache. While Kitty and Mimmy are quite saddened regarding his situation, the other kids think Puffin deserved this. Puffin's mother then comes and scolds him for running off and eating the good dreams. Puffin apologises for his antics while she pumps his stomach. Puffin's mother then suggests that he takes some stomach medicine, which Puffin finds to his horror as she drags him back through the portal to his home.

Trivia[]
- Puffin is the only character from Hello Kitty and Friends who is the main antagonist of an episode and reforms after they are defeated, as he gives back the dreams he stole after getting caught for good.
- The Queen and King of Hearts, two antagonists from the book Alice in Wonderland (which got adapted into an episode), lost their courthouse and were blown away when Alice grew to a massive size. However, neither one is seen changing their ways.
- The bird that jammed the Big Ben Clocktower during the episode The Day the Big Clock Stopped was not really an antagonist, having gotten over his fear of heights when Kitty fell off the clock tower while she tried to help him find his own flying ability.
- Wilhelmina, Fortella, and their mother from Cinderella were forced to be maids.
- The wicked Queen from Snow White was smashed by a boulder.
- Strangely, Puffin is able to open his mouth even though his mother's mouth is constantly closed.
- Judging from his size as portrayed in the episode, Puffin seems to be smaller than Haroshee from Hello Kitty Super Style!, being only 1/7th to 1/8th Kitty's size. Haroshee, on the other hand, seems to be around 1/5th Kitty's size.
