Rainbow Circus is a Sanrio universe/brand which debuted in 1983, comprised of colorful circus animals and monsters.
The American toy company Tonka from 1985 to 1986 released a line of color-changing plush toys of Sanrio characters called Hello Color/Colour. It also included Rainbow Circus characters, who were heavily promoted throughout. Some characters, such as the monsters collectively called the Yuk-a-Puks, orignated from Hello Color.
