Rinko Kougyoku (紅玉 りんこ, kōgyoku rinko) is the main protagonist of the first season of Jewelpet. She is also the owner of the Jewelpet, Ruby and her companion. She is a second-year highschool student at Nijishoku Academy and lives in Takaragaseki City with her mother and her father.
Appearance[]
Rinko is a 14 year old highschool student attending Nijishoku Academy, she has light skin, brown eyes and bright red hair. For her highschool uniform consists of a white shirt with red lines on the sleeves, upper and lower front sections of the shirt, a yellow jacket with a metal clip attached on the right, a dark gray skirt, red socks with a black stripe near the top and brown shoes.
For casual attire, Rinko is seen wearing various outfits.

- Rinko's last name "紅玉 " comes from the Japanese name for rubies[1], likely as a reference to how she would eventually encounter Ruby and become her owner.
- Rinko has a some similarities with Uta Yumeno from Onegai My Melody, both are 2nd year highschool students, the human protagonists of their respective series and become friends with the main protagonists of their anime.
