—Hello Kitty and Rumpeldogskin

Rumpeldogskin is an episode of the television series Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater that is based on the story of Rumpelstiltskin.

Story[]

Once upon a meow, good King Sam and the lovely Queen Kitty rode into the sunset and lived happily ever after. Or, at least they were about to – before a huge, magical troll (Grinder) got in the way!

Plot[]

Before the play, everyone backstage is having lunch as quickly as they can. Hello Kitty makes a sandwich, specifically for Catnip, much to Catnip's curiosity. Tuxedo Sam explains to her that Kitty doing nice things makes her happy, and that Catnip should try it sometime, to which she finds it a strange idea.

Once upon a meow, there was a kingdom far away ruled by the single King Sam. He asks Wizardess Fangora what's on his Royal Schedule; today is the day that he is to pick a worthy queen to share his crown, such as the wizardess' beautiful daughter, Catnip the Lovely. The king summons Court Page Chip and sends him to find every eligible maiden in the kingdom.

The court page returns with the eligible maidens he could find; Princess Wanda the Whiner, Princess Betty of the Bogs, and Princess Wilma the Warmhearted, to which the wizardess finds them rather unworthy, leaving only one option, Catnip the Available. The king asks the court page if that's it, to which the latter replies with the exact answer. The king shamefully chooses her and summons Papa Tailor Kitty to make the wedding gown. The door opens as pink fabric rolls in like a carpet, to which Catnip hates, then blue fabric, to which she also hates. The king asks him if he's sure that there aren't any other eligible maidens. The tailor introduces himself, as Catnip crossly asks him if he's got "anything in gold." He unveils to them his beautiful eligible maiden daughter in golden fabric, Hello Kitty. The king sees her and begins to fall for her. The court page asks him of what he thinks, to which he responds that she's the one for her. Catnip becomes hesitant as to why he would choose her when he can marry Catnip the Cute. The wizardess then asks of what skills Kitty has; Kitty is good at mending, and the tailor tells them that she can spin straw into gold. Kitty is confused, but the wizardess proves the tailor's point. Catnip fussily tells her that she never taught her to do such, to which the wizardess responds that it can't be done. She tells the king that he should check this out before marrying her. The king agrees and orders Kitty to spin straw to gold, a big load of it in the tower room. Catnip then states to her that if she can't do it, she and her father are therefore banished to the Deep Dark Forest. The tailor gives her a spinning wheel as Catnip forcibly throws her into the room and locks her in, telling her to "knock when she's all done" as she leaves while laughing maniacally.

That night, Kitty is struggling as the straw isn't even spinning to gold. Then, she sees a troll emerge from the straw pile because he can't sleep over the spinning noise. She apologizes to him about being loud, and that she doesn't know how to spin straw to gold at all. He tells her that he can spin straw to gold, but of course she has to pay for it. She hands him her favorite pearl collar and the troll calls it a deal as he begins to magically spin straw to gold. Kitty is amazed of this. As the sun rises, the troll nearly finishes with all of the straw, telling her that the price will be higher if he ever has to come back. Kitty hopes that she would never have to disturb him again, and soon the room now has a load of 24K straw. Kitty hears knocking, knowing that it must be King Sam, and before she could tell the troll to hide, he is out of sight. When the door opens, everyone is impressed. Catnip asks the wizardess if she has any other bright ideas, and she does; the trick is to get Kitty to do it again. The king is confused of this, but she reminds him that as his wizardess, she must protect him, as she makes Kitty do it all one more time.

Kitty is brought to a large room filled with an even bigger heap of straw to spin. She thinks that maybe the troll has applied a spell to the wheel, but she was wrong as the wheel breaks off. Kitty ends up breaking in tears wanting the troll to help her, then the troll emerges telling her that "there's nothing to cry about," but he finds her right seeing all of the straw. He asks her of what she has to trade, but she has nothing. She persuades him of making a new troll suit, to which he passes. Kitty explains to him that she will become queen tomorrow, and therefore she could give him anything. The troll concludes of trading her firstborn baby to him, but she couldn't really promise that. The troll reluctantly begins to leave, but Kitty persuades him to spin the straw to gold and that she will give him anything he wants. The troll calls it a deal and begins spinning again. Before the wedding march could start, Wizardess Fangora checks on Kitty, as she was ready to banish her, when golden straw pours out of the room. King Sam takes Kitty instead and begins the Royal Wedding, with an upset Catnip saying "Always a wizardess, never a bride" she'll find someone else.

King Sam and Queen Kitty are now married, the queen gives birth to Princess Baby Melody, and a birthday is celebrated for the little rabbit. After Babysitter Chip has finished proclaiming them to the princess, the king and queen return as he sends the babysitter to fetch the court page. The princess begins to take her first steps, as the king attempts to teach her to speak by saying "King Dada," as she hits him in the head with her rattler. The court page arrives as the king leaves to start the Royal Court. As the queen continues to teach the princess to say "King Dada," the troll comes in through the window with baby supplies ready to take her. The queen is shocked and attempts to persuade him to take every other of the castle's belongings but her baby, but it's useless. The queen begins to lose hope of how to prevent this, until the troll then makes a decision; if she can guess his name in three nights, the baby is hers to keep. She grabs a book titled "A Thousand Names For Your Baby" and reads every name from A-Z on it, but none of them apply to the troll. The following morning, the troll leaves and tells her that he'll come back later and that she can try again, hoping that she'll never guess his name.

Later that day, the queen is feeding the princess whilst trying to teach her to say "King Dada." She then rings for Court Page Chip, and tells him to go and drop down every name in the kingdom, and to keep an eye out for troll names (all whilst accidentally chucking a pacifier on his mouth instead of a scroll, much to the princess' enjoyment of hilariousness.) The court page does so and heads off.

Later that night, the queen reads every name on it in hopes of one of them being the right one, but has lucked out as none of them apply to the troll either. He tells her that he'll come back tomorrow to pick up the princess, as he scratches her chin one last time and leaves as she replies with "oke ba." The queen lays the princess down in her crib and sadly tells her good night and begins to cry.

The following morning, the princess is awake as the queen has just woken up, realizing that the troll will be here soon. She tells her to remember that her mama loves her, as well as "King Dada," as she places a necklace of the king around her neck. The troll excitedly comes in to pick the princess up, as she finally says "King Dada." He explains to her that he is not "King Dada," and that his name is actually, revealingly, "Rumpeldogskin." The queen excitedly realizes his name and takes the princess back from him. Rumpeldogskin becomes extremely pouty of losing to his game as the ground beneath him collapses and he falls into the abyss. The princess watches excitedly and says "King Dada" again, as the king hears her saying if she called. And so, Rumpeldogskin disappeared into the earth, where all good trolls belong. Queen Kitty would therefore never again make a promise she couldn't keep, and she, King Sam and Princess Baby Melody lived happily ever after. The story ends.
