Sanrio Entertainment Co., Ltd. (株式会社サンリオエンターテイメント) is the entertainment branch of Sanrio Co., Ltd. and is part of Sanrio Group. Established on July 1st, 2009 it serves as the operating company for both Sanrio Puroland and Harmonyland.
History[]
Sanrio Communication World Co., Ltd. would be established in 1987, as the operating company for Sanrio Puroland, with another company being founded the next year in 1988, Harmonyland Co., Ltd. as the operating company for Harmonyland[2]. Puroland would later open in 1990, with Harmonyland opening in 1991. In 1999, Sanrio Communication World Co., Ltd. would change it's name to Sanrio Puroland Co., Ltd.
10 years later, on July 1st, 2009, Sanrio Entertainment Co., Ltd. would be established, to be the operating company for both Puroland and Harmonyland, as well as for other forms of entertainment such as live events and performances.
