Sanrio Phantasien (サンリオファンタージェン) was a Sanrio theme park located in the shopping mall "LaLaport 2" (now called LaLaport TOKYO-BAY) in Funashiba City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. The park had two stories and took up 1,931m² (or less than half an acre). The park was used as inspiration for the now highly popular Sanrio Puroland. It opened on March 20, 1988, and permanently closed on August 31, 1995.
The park was inspired by the streets of Rothenberg, Germany, and was meant for all ages, children and adults, to enjoy the scenery. It housed many stores, animatronics, a fountain, and a stage. The park's original mascot character is called Peter Von Kat.
