The Magic Apple ( 魔法のリンゴ, mahō no ringo) is the finale of the Hello Kitty and friends episode. It was originally made in September 21, 1992.
Summary[]
The episode begins with Kitty reading a story of Snow White in bed before her mother enters the room and tells her that it’s time for bed. When she went to sleep, she has a dream of herself waking up by a prince named David before they head over to his castle, but she gets awakened by her mother and she tells her that she’s gonna be late for school because she stayed up last night while reading a book.
While she’s running late for school, she noticed some apples came rolling down the hill and saw Mr O’Hare who accidentally dropped some apples from his truck, she decided to help him pick the apples up and he gives her a apple before she runs off. Kitty decided to take a shortcut through the bushes and when her backpack gets caught in the branch, she accidentally drops her apple and it teleports Kitty into another world.
When she flys out from the bushes, she finds herself in the palace’s garden and her casual clothing was changed into her Snow White dress. She ran inside David's Castle and finds her friends dancing at the royal ball. Thomas offers Kitty to dance with him and they both danced. After having a great time dancing with her friends, she finds Mimmy and her parents sitting on their thrones, asking her to come here. Kitty recognized their parents and her sister before the counselor tells her that Kitty will have to learn about Royal duties instead of fun & games. Kitty decided to go back into her world as she exits out the ballroom, she then encounters a wicked lady with an apple in her hands. Kitty gets very scared and she runs away as the wicked lady chased after her.
After she escaped David's Castle, she begins to mourn into tears before she was encountered by a bear who works at the bakery named David. He offers Kitty a cupcake to cheer her up. She asks David if it’s poison, but he replied that the cupcake wasn’t poisonous and she eats it. When the wicked lady arrives, David helps Kitty to hide inside the barrels from the alleyway.
Soon after meeting each other, he asks Kitty about where she came from and she replies that she came from a castle. But David tells her that the castle was a tourist attraction, Kitty started crying again as David comforts her. Later that evening, David threw stones at the lake as he tells Kitty that she had traveled back in time and left the castle, then into his timeline. Kitty bursts into tears again and David cheers her up by playing music with his harmonica.
Kitty & David began having fun while eating ice cream, swinging on swings, and even sliding down the slide. When the wicked lady shows up, they both escaped by riding on a skateboard and onto the bat. When day turns into night, they looked at the stars as Kitty tells him that sometimes she and her dad looks at the stars with her telescope at night, including her friends.
When she and David get off the boat, she gets captured by a wicked lady as she covers her mouth and David tries to save her by using a stick, but the wicked lady said that the apple wasn’t poisonous and it will help her get back home in her real time. She tells Kitty that if she takes a bite of the apple, she will be gone and David was shocked to hear this. She tells her that the apple was actually a magic apple that she got from Mr. O'Hare and it can grant wishes before she dropped it, that’s why Kitty was having a strange dream instead of a nice one.
When she gives Kitty an apple, she takes off her hood, revealing to be her teacher Ms. Lindsay. She explains to Kitty that sometimes that she doesn’t feel like getting up and getting ready for school, she also tells her that it’s fun to daydream and pretend to be someone else once in a while, but if Kitty doesn’t come back soon, she’ll be stuck here as a princess forever and won’t be able to get home. The only way for Kitty to get back home is to take a bite of the apple and wishes to be home again.
Before she could take a bite of the apple, she tells Ms. Lindsay that she is feeling scared and asks about staying here, but David tells her that she can’t stay because her friends and family will miss her. Kitty smiled and thanks David for all the fun and adventure they had today before saying goodbye and she takes a bite of the apple, sending Kitty back to her real time as everything began to reverse.
When Kitty wakes up, she find herself back in the bushes where she saw an apple that she had bitten, Kitty decided to bury the apple and rushes out from the bushes and heading straight towards school. When she entered the classroom, she finds Ms. Lindsay and her class were reading a story about Snow White before she hugs her in tears while crying.
The next day, Kitty, Mimmy and her parents stopped by at the bakery and they ordered sweets from David and his mother who works here. Kitty and Mimmy's mother tells them that their father’s inviting them to see a movie tonight, they both cheered. The episode ends with Kitty and Mimmy runs off while carrying a box of sweets as their parents laughed.
In the Japanese version after the credits, Kitty and her friends; Thomas, Jocy, and Tracy who were waiting for Fifi to come out of the bushes before she ran out with an apple in her hands and said that nothing happened. Her friends started complaining to Kitty about the magic apple was only a dream, but she tells them that it wasn’t a dream and says that in order to go to the world of dreams, she needed to have dreams because she was a dream girl, causing them to fall on the ground and Kitty looks confused.
